What is playAbility?

playAbility is an adaptive Windows application that lets you play any video game using the controls that fit you the best, from face gesture, head movement to remapping any keyboard key or mouse click, alongside any peripherals like keyboards, mice, gamepads, or wheelchair joysticks. Its adaptable profile system enables you to set custom triggers for specific actions, giving you complete control over your gaming experience.

Installation

To install the application, download it from this page

Creating a Profile

A profile is a saved configuration of controls. You can select and customize every action linked to a trigger for any device.

Quick Tutorial on Creating a Profile:

1. Open the playAbility app.
2. Click on the Profiles tab in the left-hand menu.
3. Select + Add a New Profile.
4. Choose a base template:
   • 1 Stick & 2 Buttons: Basic gamepad profile.
   • Full Gamepad: Complete gamepad setup.
   • Blank: Empty profile that you can fully customize.
5. Add or modify the triggers for each action (keyboard, mouse, facial gesture, etc.).

Using Facial Movements

You can configure playAbility to use your facial movements as commands via your webcam.

Enabling Facial Recognition:

1. Ensure that your webcam is selected in the settings.
2. Enable facial recognition by clicking Start Face Detection.
3. Assign facial movements to specific actions (e.g., a smile to press a key).

Connecting with Consoles

Xbox: Connect your Xbox to playAbility using compatible software.
PlayStation: Connect your PlayStation to playAbility.
